Paul Jules Ferdinand HACQUARD creates a company of forge, locksmith’s trade and sanitary installation in Sarre-Union (France North East)
In 1930
A new stage begins for the company which starts on the market of the family furniture and metal set of shelves. This diversification lead to recruitment of some technicians specialized from Mannheim (Germany).
In 1945
After the war, the family company takes back its activities with, in the head, Paul HACQUARD, son of the founder. He decides to enter on the office furniture market.
Partitions half height
At the beginning of the 50s, post-war France is in full reconstruction.
Numerous offices are created for the public sector. Aim is to improve the working space.

New stage for the company
The office furniture, set of shelves and half height partitions markets evolve very fast. Manufacturers and distributors group together. We attend the birth of big groups. The company owner absolutely wants to remain independent. That is why, he turns to the partitioning market from ground to ceiling, while preserving the company know-how: the work of the fine sheet metal workshop. The movable partition was born. The company leaves the office furniture, reaches the market of the real-estate with, as interlocutors, the live customers and the building area architects. Paul HACQUARD transforms the company into a limited company and, few time later, absorbs his main retailer of office furniture which served the Paris region and whom registered company name is SOMETA. SOMETA then becomes the registered company name of absorbing company
In 1970
During the 70s, SOMETA develops. Its products are intended for the fittings of complete buildings, always bigger. Said mono-blocks partitions are definitively abandoned for the bi-blocks partitioning system benefit which ease the set-up and adapt themselves to almost all the types of premises. Paul HACQUARD retires, leaving the management to his son, Pierre HACQUARD.

The Management of SOMETA INC. is assumed by Daniel FAKLER. The company continues its evolution with, notably, a new processing technology change, in 2004, going from a coated liquid painting on its partitions to the powder painting application.
